David Frake

David is a co-founder of Balance Physiotherapy. He developed his expertise at The Ottawa Rehabilitation Centre and the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute - Lyndhurst Centre. A graduate of the University of Ottawa Physiotherapy Program and of the University of Waterloo's Kinesiology Program, he was awarded The University of Ottawa, Clinical Award of Excellence in 1998. David is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and holds an independent practice certificate from the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

David's continuing pursuit of post-graduate education has guided him in his use of Bobath typical movement techniques, acupuncture, gait analysis and biomechanics in his daily practice. David's academic background also includes teaching experience as a clinical instructor and facilitator for the University of Toronto. His clinical experience includes work with Triathlon Canada’s national teams at more than a dozen world championship events as a team physiotherapist.​

David is also a multiple Triathlon Canada national team member and an elite competitive cyclist. In 2010 he was an ITU Duathlon world champion and has national and provincial elite and masters cycling championship medals. He has also managed several national age group teams at triathlon world championships.

David has been a member of the board of directors of The Alliance of Community Medical and Rehabilitation Professionals for six years and as well as a board member of EHM for the past year.

David is fluently bilingual in English and French and has basic Mandarin Chinese comprehension.
